Enter the Void

How could I have missed Gaspar Noé’s Enter the Void at the Stockholm Filmfestival last year?

What was I thinking? Where was my mind? It’s going to be a pain finding a screening now (at least according to IMDB)

To make up for it, here is some eye-candy from Gaspar Noé. Eva, a film with Eva Herzigova and a…errrmmm…kitten.

Not so sure about that one, though I would never doubt Gaspar Noé cinematic capabilities.

Crash! Bang! Wallow?

Joel Stickley, author of the hilarious blog How to Write Badly Well, wrote this funny little animated film about an out-of-luck stunt man.
He echoes my sentiments about Hollywood films and everything being entirely computer animated nowadays in a cutesy way. Fortunately, we still have Asian cinema.

Sahara Wonderland

To use the adjective “epic” would be insulting.

Energy in Time-Lapse

One of two current big events impacting the environment on a big scale is the Eyjafjallajökull eruption.

Sean Stiegemeier captured the awesome spectacle in time-lapse:

Robbo vs Banksy War 01.05.2010

Visiting London this week I used the opportunity and a beautifully sunny Saturday morning to take a stroll along the picturesque pastoral banks of Regent’s Canal in Camden Town, London.

As Treehugger (and in turn The Guardian) reported the feud between Robbo and Banksy has escalated in the last weeks. It is as if the two are almost echoing the upcoming general elections in the UK.

As I had hoped, the state on the morning of May 01, 2010 was such as I had not seen on the internet before.
This is what the “I don’t believe in Global Warming” piece looked like today:
Banksy is not the Messiah

A little further up the canal:
Banksy is Village Idiot

Robbo is proud being working class:
Shoe Shine Robbo

Either Robbo or Banksy (can’t tell which one) wishes all wars were like this:
I Wish All Wars Were Shoe Shine

I wish all Wars Were Like This One

And between the shoe shine and the wish for wars is a little girl:
Give Way

Down Under Tranquility

Doesn’t Mike Fletcher always, always, always, always make you want to pack your bags and head down under?

Then again…does not Garance Doré do too?

Space Monkey

Remember those space monkeys in Fight Club?

Think about the animals used in product testing. Think about the monkeys shot into space. “Without their death, their pain, without the sacrifice,” Tyler says, “we would have nothing.”

Well, maybe it’s the other way around…

Death is the Road to Awe

Tom @ Timescapes is back. And this one is beyond epic. Some regular filmed video sequences along with the best time-lapse I have seen.

This Justin Timberlake medley is all kinds of awesome!
